No Thanks for Stolen Lives on Stolen Land Safeway Protest

While it can be nice to gather with loved ones and express gratitude, “Thanksgiving” marks the genocide of Indigenous peoples and the death of over 40 million turkeys every year. An investigation into a California Foster Farms turkey farm showed horrific abuse, including dead baby birds whose eyes and brains were eaten out by insects. Activists rescued four turkeys, including a little chick named Georgie, and are now calling on Safeway and other retailers to cut ties with Foster Farms. We will not stay silent in the face of injustice. We hope you will join us in speaking up for all those who are oppressed at this nonviolent protest of Safeway.
