Animal Rights News Recap 2/10/2017

DxE's Open Rescue Network saved Scarlett, a blind hen, from being crushed to death in a "humane" egg farm supplying to Safeway.

After an activist with DxE SF Bay Area received charges of criminal mischief for allegedly rescuing a chicken, her story was shared with people around Berkeley and public opinion agreed that taking a sick animal to the vet is not a crime.

In Ontario, DxE was part of a day of action involving seven animal rights organizations, where the young victims of animal exploitation were remembered and their stories told.

PETA's legal team is fighting the USDA's recent removal of its animal welfare reports from public view.
