Prior to the track’s closure, DxE routinely protested at the facility, held funerals for horses that died on site and created a petition to shut down the track, according to DxE spokesperson Cassie King.

The grocery chain Good Earth Natural Foods shared in a March 5 email and in signage placed around its stores it has decided to stop carrying Rosie’s Chicken in its stores. Rosie’s is produced by Petaluma Poultry, a subsidiary of Perdue Farms. The decision, according to the posted notices, was because “We have concerns around their animal handling practices and the lack of transparency into their operations.”
